Introduction

Hampi was the capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. It is located on the banks of the Tungabhadra swash in Karnataka. The remains of palaces, tabernacles and thus royal buildings at Hampi are evidence of the wealth and majesty of the Vijayanagar emperors. History of Hampi 

The capital of the Vijayanagar Empire from 1336 to 1565, the megacity was ruled by four dynasties – the Sangama, Saluva, Tuluva and Aravidu dynasties. The magnates of those dynasties erected more than 500 monuments. As the capital of the Vijayanagar Empire. Hampi grew into a trading center for cotton, spices, cattle and monuments with gems.

It was believed that rubies and diamonds were sold on the shipping lanes, and gold and plates were used as currency. The main road selling diamonds was called Pan Supari Road, and the tabernacles and palaces were revered by Arab, Portuguese and Italian travelers. The heyday of Hampi ended when the city was besieged by a joint army of Muslim provinces in 1565. The city was plundered for six months before it was abandoned.

The tabernacle is built with its main entrance facing east and resides two yards away. As soon as you enter the tabernacle, there is a statue of Nandi with three heads. the hall is located in the center of a pillar known as  Ranga Mandapa.

Vijaya Vittala Temple 

Vijaya Vittala Temple or Vijaya Tabernacle of Hampi, one of the traditional places to visit in Hampi is a good place to visit at your hampi tour. Each is surrounded by magnificent tombstone structures, making the pillars look like they are playing music. 

This is true architectural excellence of Hampi, showing remarkable creativity and  beauty of armorial imagination. The armature of this tabernacle comes from the Dravidian period and reflects South Indian features. 

The Tabernacle is surrounded by three lofty gates with high emulsion walls. Maha Mantapa, Stone Chariots and Musical Pillars are  the attractions of this Vijaya Vittala Temple. 

Lotus Mahal 

Lotus Mahal or Kamal Mahal presents an unmistakable architectural design amidst all the contrasting attractions of Hampi tour. it is called more or less the shape of a lotus flower. 

The center of this Mahala patty resembles a lotus flower and therefore the lid and aisles are petals. The ceiling shows the multi-layered design  and Indo style that reflects the architecture. 

Yantrodharaka Hanuman Temple 

Yantrodharaka Hanuman Temple is about 2 km from the infamous Virupaksha Tabernacle. This tabernacle may be  part of a well high on the  hill and is dedicated to the Hindu god Lord Hanuman.

Tungabhadra swash also flows through  this hill tract. Then you will find Lord Hanuman  in  deep meditation. Five flashes away you will find another tabernacle dedicated to Lord Srinivasa. If you feel empty, you can go to small stalls selling either mangoes, crackers or cucumbers.

Hampi Bazaar 

If you have a day off, don’t forget to try your hand at shopping at Hampi Bazaar. It spreads beyond a kilometer and hence there are birds on both sides of the road on the way through this application. 

Alternatively, this shopping stop is understood to be Virupaksha Bazaar, one of the most elegant places in Hampi. To the east you will find a path enchanted by the original cities. At the eastern end of this Hampi Bazaar road is a large Nandi bull statue. near a booth displays Hampi  prints  from  traditional times 

Hipisaar 

Another popular place in Hampi is Hipisaar, named after its vibrant culture. Virapapur Gadde may be a small island across the Tungabhadra river. Known as a hiker’s delight, the islet is stunning and  popular with locals and hikers alike for its laid-back atmosphere and comfortable accommodations.

Coracle Lift 

Coracle are indirect boats in the current area. Then it is also called a land boat and can carry about six to eight people at a time. It’s a stretch you should at least enjoy as you go along. 

Tungabhadra river area is one of the most elegant tourist places in your Hampi tour. And while you are there, you can rent a coracle at a very affordable price and ride it. They have been an important means of transport in Hampi  since the beginning of the 15th century.
